Making the Most of Our Meetings

What Are CASSP Meetings?

We coordinate “CASSP Meetings” with Mental Health providers, School Districts, Mental Health/Intellectual Disability (MH/ID), Juvenile Probation, Drug and Alcohol, Children and Youth Services, the Managed Care Organization, and any other service involved with the child/adolescent.

CASSP Meetings bring together professionals from child-servicing agencies in order to empower families, prevent higher levels of care, identify community resources, collaborate, and overcome barriers.

How Do I Prepare for a CASSP Meeting?

  • Be prepared to bring necessary documents, for example:

    • Mental Health Evaluations

    • Custody Agreements / Court Orders

    • School Reports (i.e. IEP, Behavioral Reports)

    • Any current medications (if prescribed), and treating physicians/doctors/providers

    • Any other necessary information pertaining to child

  • Be prepared to discuss current and past services

  • Review child’s current/prior strengths, barriers or presenting challenges

  • Should a trauma history exist, it may be appropriate for review during the discussion in assessing services

  • Bring a willingness to "think outside the box," advocate, have a positive attitude, and voice suggestions for creative solutions

Please Note: Referrals are encouraged to be completed with the CASSP Coordinator, but may also be completed by an outside organization or family member.
